Phew! It’s been a while since I got to catch up with you. I’m pretty sure you’ve also found the last three months full of topsy-turvy moments, insane obligations and other stuff that makes you glad it’s finally the Holidays! Maybe not for long, but it’s welcome, nevertheless. So, Happy Holidays!

Good news for air signs is that the past three months that seemed like an extended directors-cut-can’t-it-be-over-we’ve-already-done-this-from-three-other-views type of Mercury Retrograde feel is coming to an end. Yep, pee breaks can be taken without feeling guilty from now on. But I digress. This post is about catching up and letting you know the exciting news.

But, before I do, quick note on Mr Winged Feet and his to-ing and fro-ing across the heavens.

Mercury is set to go retrograde in mid-Jan to middish-Feb so we’ve already started to feel those effects. Remember to check your bank and card statements, be extra cautious when online shopping, double-check dates for travel and accommodation (and Covid related protocols and restrictions), service your car, double-check that Autocorrect isn’t hijacked by Gremlins, and be wary of signing off on those deals with buy-now-and-pay-in-three-months…

My podcast is now past its first anniversary!

I delivered Season 1 with 52 tarotscopes for each week, plus 4 episodes on eBooks For Travelers. Unfortunately, due to work commitments, I didn’t get as much reading done as I usually do, so the eBooks For Travelers and my Highly Recommended blog posts fell away. I’m adjusting the format for my Season 2, now already on Episode 4.

The new format will have a bi-weekly tarotscope episode alternating with short Pick-A-Cards and eBooks for Travelers episodes. Now, all I have to do is find time to read those eBooks… Just to clarify, patrons on my Patreon will still get their often super-specific weekly tarotscopes because they love them and so I love reading them!

If you’re wondering what else my patrons are loving, it’s the secret bonuses like my Zoom calls. I can’t believe we’ve had four calls since December 2020! They’re fun and usually bring up some amazing insights. I’d love to do more calls, but time…

I may look like this when I’m gobsmacked, but I can’t say for sure as I’ve never seen myself so. But that’s not the point. The point is I couldn’t find a suitable photo, so…But that’s not the point either! The point is…

I’d like to share something I just discovered last night: Algorithms are pretty useless in finding the golden stuff when it comes to books and other media.

I’ve been looking at the genre pages of different sites and they only show you up to forty or fifty titles, often with multiples of the sample artist/author/studio.

This makes it seem like there’s nothing to watch or read, because modern algorithms and even searches are ridiculously lame at doing their jobs these days. They’re like shop assistants that NEVER look in the back or even squint at the high shelves (shoutout to all shop-assistants who do!).

So, do yourself a favor and refresh your search terms. Keep a list of titles you want to give your time to, and see what the backroom holds. I promise you, it’s like that scene in Indiana Jones where the ark is carted into an infinitely long warehouse that no self-respecting snooty-nosed algorithm would dare venture into!
